NCLEX study guides

These guides answer the questions nursing graduates actually type into a search box the month before the NCLEX-RN: which lab values to memorize, how to answer a prioritization question when every option looks urgent, what to do after a failed attempt, how the Next Generation item types work, and how to build a study plan that fits the weeks you have left.

How these guides are written and checked

Every guide is written by the NCLEX Sprint team from the current NCSBN NCLEX-RN Test Plan and from named, dated sources, then checked claim by claim by a separate fact-check pass before it is published. Where a guide quotes another company's price or feature, it says the date that was true. Where a guide states a clinical value or an exam rule, it cites the page it came from. Nothing on these pages is medical advice, and none of it guarantees an exam result; the disclaimer on every guide says so in plain words.

What you will find on each guide

Each guide opens with the short answer, then explains it in the order a student needs it. Most guides include up to three real practice questions from the free pool of the NCLEX Sprint app, with the full rationale under a fold so you can try the question before you read the answer. Each guide ends with the questions students usually ask next, a numbered list of sources, and links to the related guides.

How to use them

Read the guide that matches the thing you are stuck on, try the practice questions, then take the same topic into the app, where the full question bank, the weak-area tracking and the adaptive practice exam live. The guides are free and stay free; the app has a free trial and two paid plans, which the home page describes.

Why a free study aid at all

Most graduates do not fail the NCLEX because they never studied; they fail because they studied the wrong things in the wrong order, or ran out of time before they reached the topics the test plan weights most heavily. These guides exist to fix that ordering problem for free, before you ever decide whether the paid app is worth it. Each one is scoped to a single question a student actually asks, answered in plain language, and backed by a source you can check yourself rather than a rule of thumb passed down from a study group.
